Lemons for All

Lemons are more than just the decorative slices in your drink. Lemons provide many health benefits including skin care, detoxification, and flavor for food.

If you are ever in need for a new way to clear up any acne or just a good face cleanse, then just grab a lemon and some baking soda. When lemon juice is mixed with baking soda it causes a fizz which extracts and removes dirt (this trick even works on your kitchen counters!). To begin, make sure that you have already rinsed your face of any makeup or loose dirt. In a bowl, pour some baking soda and a few drops of water to make it into a paste, this will insure that the baking soda will stick to your face. Gently apply the baking soda on the desired areas of your face. Lastly, drip some lemon juice into your hands and apply to your face. Use circular motions to clean and scrub your face, then rinse with clean, warm water when done. (Be careful and avoid eye contact with substances!)

Just like lemon cleans your face, it can clean out your insides. By having at least one tall glass of water with slices of lemon and cucumber to drink every day, it is one of the easiest ways to detox. The lemon in the water helps to activate the release cleaning of your insides while the cucumber in the water promotes the metabolism to speed up. This is as the saying goes: "hitting two birds with one stone".

Lastly, adding lemon juice to your food such as chicken, fish, or salads, can add a deliciously great flavor. By adding lemon juice to your food, it down plays any spiciness and saltiness. You will also be less inclined to crave something sweet after your meal.

So, when life gives you lemons... it can be a positive thing... it's what you do with them that counts!
